An Incomplete List of Hocking Hills REST & RELAXATION

A GETAWAY TO RECONNECT AND RESTORE

Many visitors to the area are seeking an escape from the day-to-day grind. To disconnect from what doesn’t count and connect with what does, as we like to say. From the majestic vistas of the Appalachian foothills to the serene gorges and caves, Hocking Hills area offers plenty of opportunities to relax and unwind. Whether youre looking for a quiet spot to contemplate nature or a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, the region has something for everyone. Sometimes just a little cabin time (with a good book or a good friend) is enough to recharge one’s battery. The list below includes opportunities to add on some well deserved R&R during a stay in the area. In addition, if you’re seeking to connect via the lovely hiking trails in the area, start here for a list some of the best sight-seeing trails in the region. We are happy to assist guests in developing an itinerary that suits their needs and interests, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you decide to book a stay!

That said, here’s our incomplete list of activities for some quality rest and relaxation:

Blue Valley Massage provides the opportunity to have the spa treatment brought directly to you. They will travel to cabins to provide their services, which include massage (traditional relaxation, deep tissue, hot stone, couples/side-by-side, facials, body scrubs) while also offering yoga sessions, inside or outside on one of our large deck spaces.

Another business offering yoga sessions on demand is Mays Yoga. Whether in person or virtually, Dakota Mays can offer classes tailored to individuals, couples, or larger groups.

If looking for something to bring the heat, visitors might consider renting a sauna pod to help unwind. Sauna Pods Hocking Hills provides both the heat and a vista to enjoy while relaxing with up to 3 other friends/family. These barrel-shaped saunas can be great after a long day of adventuring for dealing with “Hill chill” or “hiking ache.”

To further the healing, head over to the Hocking Hills Serenity Salt Cave. Unlike the caves you’ll encounter while hiking the trails, this cave practices Halotherapy (salt therapy) using salts from the Himalayas to promote wellness in the area of respiratory, skin, and emotional health.

John Glenn Astronomy Park (JGAP) offers a different means of communing and exploring. JGAP is an underrated Hocking Hills gem. One of the things visitors often appreciate at Blooming Cabins is the opportunity to take in the night sky without the light pollution common to more populated regions. JGAP capitalizes on this lack of light pollution. They have programming throughout much of the year with Summer being their most active period. They also give estimates for how clear the night sky will be in the coming days here.

Lastly, visitors may want to somehow package up and take home the peace and tranquility they achieved on their Hocking Hills getaway. Attending a candle making class at Hocking Hills Candle Works can accomplish just that. Here you can mix and match fragrances to create your personally-scented, one-of-a-kind pure soy candle in about an hour.
