ELEVATED DINING EXPERIENCES
Hocking Hills tends to offer non-fussy cuisine, but there are options for those looking for a higher end dining experience (though all of these are unpretentious despite the elevated food and atmosphere).
Kindred Spirits (located at the Inn at Cedar Falls) focuses on using mostly locally sourced ingredients in their dishes and has a more cozy setting that focuses on smaller parties (parties of 6 or more are asked to call ahead and make reservations). The menu tends to be seasonal and ever changing, but offers a wide variety of options.
Considered casual fine dining, Rhapsody Restaurant in Nelsonville, OH provides a unique brunch (Sundays) and dining experience provided by the students of the Hocking College’s Culinary Arts, Baking, and Hospitality and Events programs (under the supervision of their professional chefs and managers). The menu is American far and the location is convenient if wanting to explore downtown Nelsonville (the restaurant is located in the Arts District).
Known for its “Sottish flair, quality ingredients, and first-class service,” Glenlaurel Inn Restaurant is one such fine dining experience that offers 6- and 7-course dinners. The most formal restaurant of those mentioned, they do have a requested dress code, described on their website, and also ask that reservations be made at least 24 hours in advance.
58 West, located in downtown Logan, OH, is a great option for visitors wanting to sample the various locally crafted wines, beers, and spirits while enjoying a good meal. The restaurant is operated by Hocking Hills Winery and has also partnered with Hocking Hills Brewing Company and Motherwell Distillery, allowing for all alcoholic beverage to be hand-crafted on site.
Lastly, while Le Petit Chevalier Vineyards and Farm Winery doesn’t serve food, they do allow visitors to bring their own! They provide an ideal setting for picnicking and being transported by the gorgeous scenery (they do ask that visitors enjoy their wine as they don’t allow outside beverages). Le Petit Chevalier also hosts a variety of food trucks every Saturday during the months of March through October (4pm-8pm)
